The motivation of the 'usual mind' is most essentially based on fear and the need for protection relative to the future. It functions in fear of Time.

At a person’s ’normal’ level the Mind is a mere REACTION TO FEAR, even in its striving for pleasure. The mind, at that level, is an ’I want, I don’t want’ mechanism. There is no sustained ’overall picture’, no relevance between one issue and another. At most, a SINGLE issue can be focused on at one time.
VERY LIMITED ACTIVITY/PERSPECTIVE, indeed. The MIND AS A REACTION TO PAIN AND FEAR. Nothing more can be expected without applied KNOWLEDGE.

Love is a state and fear is a state and you can’t be in both at the same time. When you’re ‘in’ love, you have a wider perspective. Love is a level ‘above’, a level withinIt over-sees all else! There you have flexibility and can really see because you’re not looking for something you ‘want’ - you already have it!

Our crime has been our fear; our fear that in its sometime subtle trickery has fed our narrow self pity, and 'helped' us justify evil and self-enclosing, ignorant, defensive, aggressive moves and posturing. Our evil is not only in our overt actions but in our non-actions and our so called neutrality. Beware of your self-comforting justifications. There is no escape from the Law, none.

Thought was instigated by 'want', and want is inevitably accompanied by fear - as that which is wanted may very likely not be secured.
Fear drains all systems and, in addition, creates a vibrationally determined and limited 'working environment'.
In the absence of fear/thought and with the resulting peace/god, new vistas begin to open. A new world is entered.

There are certain energies, moods, places, where a person should never think from. You can’t start from fear - you must start with an ’idea’, from remembering. All thinking that starts in fear, ends in fear! You have to rememberwhat you remembered, when you remembered best!

There is an essential difference between fear (as thought) and actual immediate danger. Danger is now - and we react with whatever astuteness and presence of mind at our immediate disposal. Fear, on the other hand, is a perception of possible danger in the future and thus in TIME. We are generally 'worried sick' about the future and thus constantly occupied with thought in time.

Basically, freedom is ‘freedom from fear’! Freedom means you can do what you want, right? So what stops you from doing what you want? Why doesn’t everyone do what they want? They’re afraid, no? You don’t do what you want because you’re afraid of what the consequences might be!
Freedom is not license! License is: you do whatever you want. Here we assume a serious individual.
If freedom is freedom from fear, then you have to be absolutely and totally neutral as to results. Because, if you’re not, and you want ‘this’ instead of ‘that’ - then you’re in fear. You want ‘this’ but maybe you’ll get ‘that’! So, neutral - as far as the results are concerned.

So, this fear thing! Each fear has so many angles to it that you can’t even start thinking about it. You can’t. Each of the fears is somehow connected with everything else. And when you KNOW that you can’t deal with it in the usual way, then it all comes together as ONE BIG MOUNTAIN. Then, you can DROP the word ’fear’. It was: ”I’m afraid of this, or I’m afraid of that”. When you arrive at this big mountain you can’t think like that any more. It turns into a TOTAL LUMP OF ANXIETY.
Our only problem with anxiety is that we fight it, and pay no attention to the sheer ENERGY that it is - that is BEGGING TO BE TRANSFORMED.
